About the Role
As a MongoDB Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data ingestion pipelines, performing complex queries, and supporting production deployments. You will collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver scalable solutions using MongoDB and related technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop Python scripts to ingest data from various sources into MongoDB collections.
- Create MongoDB aggregation pipelines using JavaScript to generate and transform collections.
- Perform Git operations including code checkout, merge, and check-in to GitLab.
- Analyze and understand existing data structures within MongoDB collections.
- Write simple and complex MongoDB queries to generate business reports.
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of MongoDB operators (e.g., $lookup, updateMany) and advanced options (e.g., preserveNull, operator differences).
- Identify data patterns and trends within MongoDB collections using queries.
- Conduct review sessions with clients to present progress and gather feedback.
- Engage with client stakeholders and business partners to capture user requirements.
- Review Webex recordings and summarize key insights, including open questions related to MongoDB processes.
- Document requirements, design specifications, and operational procedures.
- Support production deployments and troubleshoot issues.
- Provide detailed project updates, including application hosting details and deployment processes.
Your Profile
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with MongoDB.
- Strong proficiency in Python for data ingestion and JavaScript for aggregation pipelines.
- Familiarity with Git workflows and GitLab.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills for client interactions and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment.
