Short Description
Your Role
In this role, you will:
- Lead the architecture, design, development, and integration of Audio and Navigation middleware stacks for Android Automotive and Embedded Linux platforms.
- Define middleware frameworks, reusable software components, and integration strategies across vehicle programs.
- Drive end-to-end development of automotive audio features including media playback, Bluetooth audio, hands-free calling, voice processing, and multi-zone audio.
- Architect and integrate Audio HAL, DSP interfaces, codec drivers, audio routing frameworks, and audio processing pipelines.
- Lead integration of navigation systems including GPS/GNSS positioning, map services, route guidance, traffic services, and vehicle positioning solutions.
- Design interfaces between applications, Android framework services, middleware components, HALs, and hardware platforms.
- Integrate navigation systems with vehicle sensors, CAN networks, dead reckoning modules, and connected vehicle services.
- Support platform bring-up, feature enablement, and software integration on new infotainment hardware platforms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex audio issues involving latency, synchronization, routing, voice quality, DSP integration, and multimedia performance.
- Analyze navigation issues related to positioning accuracy, map rendering, route calculation, traffic services, and sensor fusion.
- Optimize system performance, boot time, memory utilization, power consumption, and overall software stability.
- Lead architecture reviews, design reviews, code reviews, and technical audits.
- Mentor engineering teams and establish middleware integration and debugging best practices.
- Drive root-cause analysis and resolution of customer-reported issues and field defects.
- Collaborate with business development and account teams on customer engagements, technical proposals, RFI/RFP responses, and solution roadmaps.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and drive innovation in intelligent navigation, voice-enabled systems, and immersive automotive audio experiences.
Your Profile
Must-Have Skills
- 15+ years of experience in Embedded Software Development and Automotive Infotainment (IVI).
- Strong expertise in Android Automotive OS (AAOS) and/or Embedded Linux.
- Deep understanding of middleware architecture, design, development, and integration.
- Proficiency in C, C++, and Shell Scripting.
- Strong knowledge of Android Framework, System Services, HAL, Binder IPC, HIDL, and AIDL.
- Experience with automotive SoCs such as Qualcomm, NXP, Renesas, TI, Samsung Exynos Auto, or similar.
- Proven technical leadership, stakeholder management, and customer engagement skills.
