Industrial AI Leader - Manufacturing Industry Practice

Job Description

Capgemini Invent's Manufacturing Industry Practice is seeking a leader to own the end-to-end solutioning and delivery governance of Industrial AI engagements for manufacturing clients in India. The leader will translate plant and business problems into scalable AI architectures, shape proposals and client narratives, improve pursuit conversion, and remain accountable for solution integrity through delivery. Demand for AI-driven operational transformation in these sectors is growing rapidly. This is a business-critical, market-facing role for a senior leader who can credibly engage client leadership on Industrial AI strategy, architecture, OT/IT convergence, and enterprise-scale deployment, backed by hands-on operating experience in Steel and/or Cement.

The role sits at the intersection of manufacturing, consulting and technology. Working with Capgemini's manufacturing, data, AI, engineering and OT capabilities, the leader will shape multiple concurrent pursuits, lead client solution workshops, define architectures spanning the plant floor and enterprise, and oversee delivery from solution design through value realization.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior, market-facing Industrial AI solution leader for manufacturing clients in India, with Steel, Cement, Metals & Mining and other process industries as preferred sectors.
• Lead client-facing solution workshops and build trusted relationships with CXOs, operations leaders, plant heads, process engineers and technology stakeholders.
• Shape multiple concurrent pursuits and proposals, creating credible solution narratives, commercials and implementation roadmaps that improve pursuit conversion and win rate. Independent new-logo origination or ownership of an annual sales target is not the primary expectation.
• Contribute to industry forums, client workshops, practice assets and thought leadership to strengthen market credibility in Industrial AI.

Primary Skills

• 15+ years of combined experience across hands-on industry operations and consulting or technology leadership.
• Mandatory manufacturing-domain experience. Steel, Cement, Metals & Mining is preferred.
• Proven client-facing ownership of end-to-end AI solution architecture and delivery in manufacturing, including production deployment and scaling beyond isolated pilots.
• Strong expertise in OT/IT integration, manufacturing data platforms (historians, IIoT platforms, industrial DataOps, cloud data platforms), digital twins, and AI/ML deployment architectures (edge and cloud, MLOps).
• India-market client exposure, including direct solution workshops and executive conversations.
• Experience leading large, complex transformation programs as the engagement/program lead, not only as a contributor.
• Experience in consulting, technology services, industrial technology or a comparable client-solutioning environment.

Skills & Attributes

• Ability to engage credibly from the boardroom to the plant floor, translating between CXO business priorities, operational realities, and technical architecture.
• Strong technical fluency across AI/ML, industrial automation, and data architecture, sufficient to guide and challenge architects and data scientists.
• Strong CXO-level relationship management, executive presence, and storytelling.
• Commercial acumen in deal shaping, pricing, business-case development, and engagement profitability.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build a new offering and practice area, not just execute within one.
