Job Description

Description:

Aftermarket Diagnostic Engineer is responsible for diagnosing technical issues on Trucks already in the field, developing troubleshooting strategies, improving diagnostic tools and processes. The role focuses on advanced fault analysis for engines, transmissions, aftertreatment systems, electrical/electronic architectures, chassis systems, and telematics. This engineer enhances dealer/technician troubleshooting capability, reduces downtime, and drives product reliability improvements.

Responsiblities:

  1. Fault tracing/Root cause Analysis of DTCs.
  2. Develop and update truck diagnostic procedures used by dealer/technician service teams
  3. Work with software/ECU teams to ensure fault codes and parameters are accurate, meaningful, and serviceable
  4. Produce Troubleshooting Guides, and Diagnostic Flowcharts
  5. Support corrective actions for high-impact or safety-related issues.
  6. Participate in new truck model/service tool readiness, ensuring diagnostic coverage before launch.
  7. Follow up requirements and implementation of them in tools like SEWS.

 

Required Skills:

  1. Strong understanding of Automotive system design is preferred.
  2. Experience with OEM truck diagnostic platforms (e.g., TechTool).
  3. Knowledge of CAN, LIN, J1939, OBD protocols.
  4. Knowledge on Git/Azure DevOps (pipeline orchestration and CI/CD management), Canoe, Canalyser.
  5. Strong communication and planning skills, ability to work in global cross-functional teams, delivering against set targets, and maintaining a customer-centric approach.
  6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability.
  7. Customer-focused mindset with the ability to translate complex data into actionable service instructions.

Education and Experience Background:

  1. BE in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  2. 3–7+ years experience in Automotive Diagnostics preferably on Trucks.

Work Environment :

  1. Primarily office-based with frequent interaction with Global Engineering Teams.
  2. Travel to field locations for critical diagnostics, pilot testing, and training support, if it is required.
