Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and evolve logical and physical data models for core entities (parts, tools, stations, processes, plans, versions).
• Create semantic data layers that support AI agent reasoning, Copilot queries, and planner views.
• Model versioning-aware relationships — enable tracking of change history, deltas, and rollback paths.
• Design graph and document models for relationships and dependencies (e.g., part↔station↔variant mappings).
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure data models match service contracts (GraphQL/REST APIs).
• Partner with AI/ML team to support knowledge graph, embeddings, and metadata tagging.
• Define standards for schema evolution, validations, canonical references, and entity resolution.
• Contribute to a central data dictionary and model governance framework for all teams.

Required Skills:

• Expertise in data modeling techniques: ER diagrams, star/snowflake schemas, graph models, document structures.
• Hands-on with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Neo4j, and Redis — know when to use what.
• Familiarity with data modeling tools: ER/Studio, dbt, http://dbdiagram.io , Lucidchart.
• Experience in version-controlled data models, soft deletes, entity lineage, and temporal modeling.
• Strong understanding of microservice boundaries and data contract ownership.

• Modeling systems for manufacturing, PLM, or ERP-style applications (BOMs, process structures, routing).
• Exposure to semantic layer / ontology modeling for AI platforms.

Consistently works to direction with minimal supervision, producing accurate and reliable results. Works co-operatively with others to achieve team goals and has a direct and positive impact on project performance and make decisions based on their understanding of the situation, not just the rules.
