Your Role

 As a Cybersecurity Validation Engineer, you will define cybersecurity validation strategies, develop test approaches, lead validation campaigns, and collaborate with architects, development teams, and stakeholders to ensure cybersecurity compliance and robustness across automotive programs.

In this role, you will:

Define cybersecurity verification and validation strategies for ECUs, covering all integrated cybersecurity functions.Collaborate with cybersecurity architects and engineering teams to review requirements and assess testability.Analyze PVAL and nomination compliance matrices and verify requirement-to-test applicability.Adapt standard cybersecurity validation plans to project-specific needs and allocate validation activities across internal teams.Define cybersecurity test specifications, validation methodologies, and acceptance criteria.Identify and define required validation tools, test software, and environments including:
  • Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL)
  • Electronic Integration Platforms (EIP/PIE)
  • Test automation frameworks
  • Cybersecurity validation environments
Ensure representativeness and effective reuse of existing test assets and validation platforms.Plan and execute verification and validation campaigns across multiple test environments.Perform ECU cybersecurity validation with focus on diagnostic security, secure sessions, authentication, and access control mechanisms.Analyze validation results, logs, network traffic, and system responses to ensure correct test execution and compliance.Lead the analysis and resolution of anomalies, vulnerabilities, and security defects identified during validation activities across multiple programs.Maintain end-to-end traceability between cybersecurity requirements, test cases, execution results, and defect reports.Support cybersecurity audits, assessments, and compliance activities.

Your Profile

Mandatory Skills

  • Strong experience in Automotive Cybersecurity Verification and Validation.
  • Expertise in ECU diagnostics and UDS (Unified Diagnostic Services), including:
    • Diagnostic sessions
    • Security access
    • NRC (Negative Response Codes)
    • Diagnostic validation methodologies
  • Experience analyzing PVAL and nomination compliance matrices.
  • Strong understanding of requirements traceability, test management, and validation processes.
  • Experience in cybersecurity validation of automotive ECUs and embedded systems.
  • Knowledge of communication security concepts including:
    • SoC/MAC security
    • Authentication
    • Message integrity protection
  • Strong understanding of automotive protocols:
    • CAN
    • UDS
    • SOME/IP
    • DoIP
    • Automotive Ethernet
  • Expertise in log analysis, traffic monitoring, and validation result assessment.
  • Strong understanding of security mechanisms including:
    • Encryption
    • Authentication
    • Secure Boot
    • Secure Diagnostics
    • Key Management

Preferred Skills

  • Hands-on experience in Penetration Testing and Vulnerability Assessment.
  • Knowledge of ethical hacking methodologies and frameworks.
  • Experience with cybersecurity testing tools such as:
    • Kali Linux
    • Metasploit
    • Wireshark
    • Burp Suite
  • Understanding of exploit techniques and vulnerability analysis.
  • Experience in Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA).
  • Familiarity with automotive cybersecurity standards and security validation processes.
  • Exposure to test automation frameworks and cybersecurity test development.
