CAD Application Support License Management | 4 to 6 years | Bengaluru

Your Profile

This role is responsible for providing end-to-end support for CAD/CAE/CAM applications and managing software license infrastructure across engineering teams. The ideal candidate will ensure seamless access to engineering tools, maintain license compliance, and support users with installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.

 

  • Strong understanding of engineering software applications and licensing models, including CAD, CAM, CAE, and simulation tools
  • Experience in Windows and Linux system administration, particularly in managing license server systems.
  • Proficiency in configuring and maintaining license server software and hardware such as FlexLM, CodeMeter, Reprise License Manager, BetaLM, LS-DYNA, ALM, TLM, Altair, 
  • Manage Audit & ensure 100% compliance for all Software Audits.Familiarity with ITIL and other service management frameworks.

Your Role

CAD/CAE/CAM Application Support:

  • Provide technical support for engineering applications such as AutoCAD, CATIA, SolidWorks, NX, Creo, ANSYS, HyperMesh, MATLAB, etc.
  • Assist users with installation, configuration, and performance tuning of CAD tools.
  • Troubleshoot application errors, crashes, and compatibility issues.
  • Coordinate with vendors for issue resolution and software updates.
  • Maintain documentation for application usage, best practices, and known issues.

License Server & Asset Management:

  • Administer and maintain license servers (e.g., FlexLM, Reprise, CodeMeter, BetaLM, LS-DYNA, Altair License Manager).
  • Monitor license usage, generate reports, and optimize license allocation.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with software licensing agreements and manage internal/external audits.
  • Forecast license requirements and assist in procurement planning.
  • Automate license usage tracking and alerting using scripts or monitoring tools.

System Administration & Integration:

  • Manage Windows and Linux systems hosting engineering applications and license servers.
  • Implement backup and recovery strategies for license servers and configuration files.
  • Integrate license management with Active Directory or LDAP for user access control.
  • Support virtualized environments (e.g., VMware, Citrix) for CAD tool deployment.

Process & Compliance:

  • Maintain audit trails and documentation for all license-related activities.
  • Apply ITIL practices for incident, change, and asset management.
  • Collaborate with IT security teams to ensure secure access and data protection.

Required Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of CAD/CAE/CAM tools and their licensing models.
  • Experience with FlexLMCodeMeterReprise, and other license managers.
  • Proficiency in Windows/Linux system administration.
  • Familiarity with ITILsoftware asset management, and audit processes.
  • Scripting skills (e.g., PowerShellBash, or Python) for automation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Mechanical/Electronics Engineering, or related field.
  • Certifications in ITILLinux Administration, or Software Asset Management.
  • Experience in a global engineering or R&D environment.
