Job Description

  • EMC Avamar EMC Networker Backup and Recovery Administration
  • Configure, manage, and monitor backups using EMC Avamar and EMC Networker platforms.
  • Implement backup policies, schedules, and retention strategies for file systems, databases, and applications.
  • Perform regular recovery testing to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Backup Optimization and Performance Tuning
  • Monitor and analyze backup performance, identifying bottlenecks and implementing optimizations.
  • Manage deduplication and compression settings to optimize storage usage in Avamar.
  • Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution
  • Diagnose and resolve backup failures and performance issues.
  • Collaborate with vendors and support teams for advanced troubleshooting and patching.
  • Disaster Recovery Support
  • Design and maintain disaster recovery strategies using EMC Avamar and Networker.
  • Support recovery operations in case of data loss, system failures, or disaster scenarios.

Primary Skills

  • EMC Avamar Hands-on experience managing backups, deduplication, and replication with Avamar. Knowledge of Avamar client configuration and integration with application environments.
  • EMC Networker Proficiency in configuring and managing Networker backup environments Experience with Networker modules for databases, applications, and virtual environments.
  • Backup and Recovery Concepts Strong understanding of RPO, RTO, and disaster recovery best practices.
