2G Protocol Development Engineer | 4 to 6 years | Bengaluru

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain 2G protocol stack modules (Layer 2/3) for GSM systems.
• Implement features in MAC, RLC, RRC, and RR layers.
• Collaborate with system architects and test teams to ensure protocol compliance and performance.
• Debug and resolve issues using trace logs and protocol analyzers.
• Contribute to system integration and validation of RAN components.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory compliance, internal control, and conformity control standards.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in C/C++ programming in embedded or telecom environments.
• Solid understanding of 2G/GSM protocol architecture and RAN interfaces.
• Familiarity with RTOS/Linux, GDB, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Experience with protocol stack development for UE or BTS.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to 3G/4G/5G RAN technologies.
• Experience in telecommunications software testing and system integration.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, or Computer Science.
• Understanding of network engineering, system administration, and IT operations.
