Job Description

  • As a technical lead, you will be primarily responsible for leading the data engineering solutions in Azure and/or any other ancillary cloud technologies. 

  • In this role you will be working very closely with Project Stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams. 

  • As part of your role, you will be a technical expert for designing, developing, supporting, and maintaining the data needs of the organization, along with bringing continuous improvements in deployment and consumption of data. This role is a very engaging mix of hands-on technical work and opportunities to showcase leadership skills. 

  • You will need a blend of superb problem-solving and innovation skills to resolve a wide variety of technical challenges. 

  • You will be working with stakeholders and solution architects who thrive through innovation and who will ensure to provide ample room for innovation on every project you are involved in.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Act as a lead to design, develop, implement, document, and maintain cloud-hosted data and analytics services in Azure and/or any other ancillary cloud technologies 
  • Assist in design and develop solutions for migration of on-premise data stores to cloud-based technologies 
  • Act as the hands-on technical expert to provide support for on-premise and cloud data infrastructure issues. Develop and maintain automated deployment pipelines, leveraging Azure DevOps or other similar tools 
  • Implement and maintain data security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry and company standards and regulations 
  • Promote and drive technical agility by collaborating with development teams, other Genworth internal teams and vendor teams to ensure cloud infrastructure meets the growing needs of the organization 
  • Evaluate and recommend configurations defines requirements, capacities, capabilities, etc. to meet user needs while adhering to technical standards 
  • Coordinate with downstream and upstream teams including onshore/offshore vendor teams 
  • Develop skill in additional cloud-based technologies and use those skills to provide solutions to business needs

Qualifications

  • Overall, 15+ years of experience, with 5+ of experience in Cloud engineering roles, with Azure cloud experience a must. 
  • Extensive experience in technologies around databases, data warehouses, data pipelines and ETL/ELT. 
  • Must have had enterprise-scale technical experience with cloud and hybrid infrastructures, architecture models, migrations, and technology management 
  • Ability to evaluate design architecture and enhance system performance by bringing in best practices.
