Job Description :

A Release Train Engineer (RTE) responsible as serving as a coach for an Agile Release Train (ART), for a long-term, cross-functional team of agile teams. The role includes facilitating ART events and processes, helping teams deliver value by coordinating impediment removal, managing risks, and communicating with stakeholders. They are responsible for guiding the ART's execution and helping to improve its overall performance

 Facilitation: Lead and facilitate ART events, including Program Increment (PI) planning, system demos, and Inspect & Adapt workshops.

 Coaching and guidance: Act as a servant leader and coach for the ART and its constituent agile teams, embodying and promoting agile principles.

• Impediment management: Help teams identify and remove impediments to their progress, escalating issues when necessary.

 Risk and dependency management: Facilitate the identification, tracking, and resolution of program risks, assumptions, and dependencies.

• Communication: Communicate with stakeholders to ensure alignment and manage expectations.

• Continuous improvement: Help the ART and its teams to continuously improve their processes and delivery capabilities.

 Process support: Support the execution of the ART's processes, such as tracking feature completion in the Kanban.

Responsibilities:

1. Plan the release of project deliverables and manage the release lifecycle.

2. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including development, QA, and operations, to ensure smooth releases.

3. Schedule and manage release windows and cycles across multiple portfolios or components.

4. Identify and mitigate risks that could impact release scope, quality, or timelines.

5. Conduct release readiness reviews, milestone reviews, and go/no-go assessments.

6. Develop and maintain release schedules, ensuring alignment with stakeholders and vendors.

7. Create and manage deployment plans, run books, and implementation strategies.

8. Oversee the execution of deployment plans and lead go-live activities.

9. Maintain a repository of release-related documentation, including procedures, dependencies, and notification lists.

10. Collaborate with release engineers to manage code merges, branches, and impacts.

11. Continuously improve release processes by identifying bottlenecks and implementing best practices.

12. Communicate release plans, updates, and changes to stakeholders effectively.

13. Ensure compliance with quality benchmarks and organizational standards.

14. Manage post-release activities, including reviews and identifying areas for improvement.

15. Utilize automation tools and scripts to streamline the release process and ensure efficiency.

16. Expert with Agile Methodology

Requirements:

• Deep understanding of agile principles and practices, often within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

• Excellent facilitation, coaching, and mentoring skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.

• Experience as an advanced Scrum Master or in a similar role is often helpful."

Works in the area of Software Engineering, which encompasses the development, maintenance and optimization of software solutions/applications. 1. Applies scientific methods to analyse and solve software engineering problems. 2. He/she is responsible for the development and application of software engineering practice and knowledge, in research, design, development and maintenance. 3. His/her work requires the exercise of original thought and judgement and the ability to supervise the technical and administrative work of other software engineers. 4. The software engineer builds skills and expertise of his/her software engineering discipline to reach standard software engineer skills expectations for the applicable role, as defined in Professional Communities. 5. The software engineer collaborates and acts as team player with other software engineers and stakeholders.

The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: [$86129 to $127189]

Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. This range may be subject to change as permitted by law.

The actual compensation offered to any candidate may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction.

It is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the posted compensation range.

In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
