Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) who is passionate about building scalable and intelligent automation solutions to ensure high-quality software delivery.
The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on Playwright experience in their current project (non-negotiable) and demonstrate deep expertise in modern test automation practices, AI-assisted development tools, and integrated quality engineering.
You will work within a cross-functional team of hardware, firmware, software, system, and test engineers to deliver cutting-edge solutions for a Financial Services platform supporting Advisor, Investor, and Business applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Automate test cases using a Playwright-based test automation framework
- Utilize Cursor AI / AI-enabled IDEs to accelerate test script development, refactoring, and code optimization
- Actively use Playwright in the current/most recent project with hands-on contribution
- Leverage MCP server capabilities to integrate AI-assisted workflows into the Playwright framework, enabling dynamic test generation
- Integrate AI-assisted code generation and validation workflows to enhance test coverage and reduce manual scripting effort
- Perform UI and API testing using modern automation tools and frameworks
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python, TypeScript, and/or .NET
- Implement BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) practices using tools like Cucumber
- Work with Atlassian JIRA for Agile Scrum processes and defect tracking
- Use Zephyr for test case management, execution tracking, and reporting
- Utilize Confluence for documentation and knowledge sharing
- Create and maintain test data scenarios to support test plans and execution
- Track defects through resolution and provide clear test status reporting to stakeholders
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and deliver high-quality software
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of experience as a QA Engineer or SDET
- Strong experience with test processes, methodologies, and automation frameworks
- Mandatory: Hands-on experience with Playwright, Selenium, or similar tools
- Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, Java, JavaScript, or .NET
- Experience in UI, API, and End-to-End automation testing
- Proficient in SQL with the ability to understand and write complex queries for data validation and analysis
- Experience with JIRA and Zephyr for defect tracking and test management
- Experience using Confluence for documentation and collaboration
- Hands-on experience with BDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber)
- Ability to act as an SME and promote automation best practices
- Proven ability to drive process improvements and quality initiatives
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated experience in release cycles and project delivery
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- AI & Modern Tooling: MCP (Model Context Protocol), Cursor AI, AI-assisted development tools
- Strong understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices
- Experience with tools like Appium, TestNG, Saucelabs
- Prior experience in Agile Scrum teams
- Financial Services domain experience
- Expertise in SOAP/REST web services testing
- Experience with Git/SVN version control systems
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: 72786- 88342

In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
