Senior Scrum Master

Serve as a Scrum Master for one or more Agile teams, ensuring consistent implementation of Scrum principles and ceremonies. Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including: Daily Stand‑ups Sprint Planning Backlog Refinement Sprint Reviews / Demos Sprint Retrospectives

Key responsabilities 

Ensure team adherence to Scrum values: commitment, focus, openness, respect, and courage. Guide teams in applying Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, or Hybrid models) based on team maturity and needs. Team Coaching & Enablement Act as a servant leader and Agile coach, coaching teams toward self‑organization and continuous improvement. Help teams improve: Estimation and planning accuracy Sprint commitment vs. completion Velocity consistency Quality and Definition of Done (DoD) adherence Identify team dysfunctions and proactively address collaboration, communication, and delivery challenges. Educate team members and stakeholders on Agile principles and best practices. Delivery & Execution Management Partner closely with Product Owners to ensure: Well‑refined, prioritized, and clearly defined backlogs Sprint goals aligned with business objectives Clear acceptance criteria and success metrics Track and communicate sprint progress, risks, dependencies, and delivery timelines. Escalate issues when necessary while maintaining team autonomy. Coordinate cross‑team dependencies and integrations, especially in scaled Agile environments. Impediment & Risk Management Proactively identify, track, and remove impediments blocking team progress. Facilitate discussions to resolve technical, process, or organizational blockers. Actively manage delivery risks, dependency risks, and resource constraints. Drive mitigation plans and follow through to closure. Agile Metrics & Reporting Track and analyze Agile metrics, including: Velocity Burn‑down and burn‑up charts Cycle time and lead time Sprint predictability and throughput Use data to drive continuous improvement and evidence‑based decision‑making. Prepare and present delivery status reports to leadership and key stakeholders. Ensure transparency across teams and leadership through dashboards and reporting tools. Tooling & GUS (Salesforce) Experience Use Agile lifecycle management tools to: Maintain sprint plans and backlogs Track stories, tasks, bugs, and epics Generate reports and metrics Good to have: Hands‑on experience with GUS (Grand Unified Scrum) within Salesforce for: Sprint planning and execution Dependency tracking Enterprise‑level reporting Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar Agile platforms is also acceptable. Stakeholder Collaboration Serve as a bridge between engineering teams, product management, data teams, QA, and business stakeholders. Manage stakeholder expectations while protecting team focus and sprint integrity. Facilitate effective communication across distributed and global teams. Foster trust and transparency between delivery teams and leadership. Continuous Improvement & Agile Maturity Lead retrospectives with actionable outcomes and measurable improvements. Identify opportunities to improve Agile processes, tooling, and team dynamics. Support organizational Agile transformation initiatives, where applicable. Share best practices and lessons learned across teams.

Job Description

The Scrum Master ensures that the Scrum teams primary focus is on delivering value effectively. To achieve this, the team embodies the Agile values and principles, exhibits Agile behaviors and follows the events, artifacts, roles and good practices of Scrum and other frameworks as they are applicable to their situation. They are a Servant Leader, guiding, coaching and teaching team members. They are a liaison between the Scrum team and people or teams outside the Scrum team. With their experience, they are accountable for a Scrum teams effectiveness, by helping them remove impediments or blockers within the team, other teams, and across the organization.  They support the Product Owner, sharing techniques to define the product goal and better manage the product backlog. Their coaching helps the Product Owner to establish an empirical process for product planning. They are conversant in the purpose and the logic of the product/service, its architecture, and the technologies that the team uses. As a change agent, they are responsible to lead the organization in implementing Scrum through training, coaching, and advising. A primary focus here is helping the organization adopt an empirical approach. They facilitate interactions between stakeholders and the Scrum team to foster openness, respect, and learning. As with any leading role, Scrum Masters are representatives of Capgemini. By nurturing Agile processes and delivery efficiency, they also ensure the discovery of new business opportunities together with the client.

Senior Scrum Master “ A Senior Scrum Master is a Scrum master who can handle more complex delivery circumstances, e.g. during an Agile Transformation. They can handle multiple teams, and exhibit Lean Agile leadership in a scaled environment. They remove team delivery blockers and enhance Agile Mindset and Behaviours. They support teams by introducing them to applicable practices of Scrum and other frameworks like XP, Kanban. They contribute to the growth of the Scrum Master community, mentoring new SMs. They support learning and development by running knowledge sharing sessions.
