Senior Data Engineer
We are seeking a highly experienced and technically strong Informatica Lead Developer with deep expertise in Informatica PowerCenter, Snowflake, IICS, Data warehousing, SQL/PL‑SQL and Unix. This role requires a mature engineering leader who can manage the complete delivery lifecycle to run an enterprise data management ecosystem, mentor junior developers, enforce engineering discipline, and drive stability and modernization across critical data platforms. The ideal candidate will bring 12+ years of experience, including 5+ years on US healthcare payer domain, with a strong understanding of legacy and modern data platforms, business rules, operational dependencies, and manage cross-functional stakeholder expectations.
Technical Expertise
- ETL & Data Integration:
- Informatica PowerCenter, Snowflake, IICS, Workflow Manager/Monitor, Real-Time & Batch Integration
Performance tuning and optimization of ETL pipelines
Data reconciliation and Root cause diagnostics & issue prevention framework
Expertise in data modelling, query optimization, partitioning strategies, and complex SQL development
Strong understanding of Data Warehousing concepts, including the design and implementation of Fact and Dimension tables within a Snowflake schema model.
Databases:
- Oracle, Snowflake, DB2, MySQL
Scripting: - PL/SQL, Unix shell scripting, Job automation (Preferably Automic Scheduler)
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end Informatica development lifecycle across all Enterprise legacy domains, including design, development, testing, deployment, and hypercare.
- Review, validate, and optimize ETL code ensuring adherence to enterprise coding standards and architectural guidelines.
- Collaborate proactively with onshore architects, Data Analysts, and business SMEs to translate functional requirements into robust technical designs.
- Create comprehensive technical specifications, mapping documents, and revision histories for new and enhanced workflows.
- Primary technical escalation point for Priority 1 & Priority 2 production incidents across the Informatica ecosystem.
- Implement proactive monitoring, job health checks, and automated alerting to reduce repeat incidents.
- Ensure strict SLA governance and reduce defect leakage into UAT/Prod environments through improved validation and peer-check practices.
- Provide ongoing technical mentoring, code reviews, and requirement clarification sessions for offshore developers.
- Conduct structured handover meetings twice daily, ensuring risk visibility, requirement clarity, and resource alignment.
- Drive compliance to security policies, audit requirements, and enterprise data governance standards.
- Co-develop a 12-month modernization roadmap in collaboration with business and IT partners.
- Evaluate modernization opportunities across Informatica migration paths, Snowflake optimization, and cloud integration strategies.
- Act as a strategic advisor to clients for data transformation and long-term architecture evolution.
