Senior Administrator - Operating Systems (Windows)
Job Summary
The Senior Windows Infrastructure Administrator is responsible for the governance and oversight of managed infrastructure services, ensuring compliance with established SLA, OLA, and KPI frameworks. This role provides technical leadership, direction, and advisory support to managed service providers, while maintaining strict segregation of governance and execution across on‑premises and cloud environments.
The position supports internal stakeholders across multiple business verticals (Projects and Initiatives), leads and executes internal infrastructure projects, and acts as a senior technical authority for daily operations. Responsibilities include security controls, automation design and coordination, change management, and business continuity support. Additionally, the role actively participates in procurement and vendor management processes, including Opex planning, RFI/RFQ/RFP execution, technical and commercial evaluations, regulatory compliance, issuance of technical assessments, approval follow‑ups, and purchase order (PO) generation.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments across production, QA, and development.
- Manage File & Print services.
- Administer and operate DHCP services.
- Operate and manage virtualization platforms (VMware / Hyper‑V), including templates, snapshots, virtual networking, resource allocation, and load balancing.
- Manage server‑level storage, including LUN creation and presentation, Fibre Channel zoning, and multipathing, coordinating closely with Storage and Converged/Hyperconverged platform teams.
- Implement OS and middleware patching and upgrades in compliance with ITIL change management processes.
- Monitor capacity, performance, and availability, performing system and stack tuning (CPU, memory, I/O, and network).
- Coordinate and validate backup and recovery operations with enterprise backup teams.
- Perform system hardening, security compliance activities, and audit support (SOX / ISO).
- Design and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell and Shell/Bash; apply Infrastructure/Configuration as Code principles where applicable.
- Resolve advanced‑level incidents, performing root cause analysis (RCA) and preventive actions.
- Maintain up‑to‑date technical documentation, procedures, diagrams, and CMDB/asset records.
- Coordinate with managed service providers, global infrastructure teams (network, security, DBAs, applications), and internal stakeholders.
- Participate in 24x7 on‑call rotations for critical operational events.
Technical Requirements
- Advanced administration of Windows Server.
- Virtualization: VMware and Hyper‑V (resource management, HA).
- Basic SAN storage knowledge: Pure Storage, Dell EMC, Fibre Channel zoning, multipathing (PowerPath / DM‑Multipath).
- LUN management, logical volumes, filesystems, and I/O tuning.
- Core Active Directory administration: domain join, services, permissions, and server‑level hardening GPOs.
- OS‑level networking: DNS, NTP, basic routing, host firewalls, load balancers (F5 / NetScaler – desirable).
- Scripting fundamentals: PowerShell and Bash/Shell for automation and daily operations.
- Backup agents/clients and enterprise monitoring tools (SCOM, Nagios, etc.).
- Basic knowledge of SCCM suite.
- Cloud environments (AWS / Azure) for integration, landing zones, and infrastructure agents (desirable).

Required Experience
- 5–8 years managing Windows Server environments in enterprise infrastructures, including rack and blade server architectures.
- Experience with SAN storage architectures, connectivity topologies, and integration with backup platforms.
- Previous experience in automotive or manufacturing environments and managed service operations is desirable.
Preferred Certifications
- Microsoft (Windows Server / Azure Administrator).
- VMware or Hyper‑V certifications.
- ITIL v4 Foundation.
- Pure Storage / Dell EMC and/or Cisco (Data Center / Networking).
- IBM Power (desirable).
