What you’ll do?
- Administer and support SQL Server databases across production and non-production environments with a strong focus on stability and performance.
- Continuously monitor production SQL Server databases, scheduled jobs, and background processes to ensure successful execution and compliance with SLA requirements.
- Proactively identify anomalies, failures, or performance degradation in database jobs and services.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve long-running or stalled SQL Server jobs caused by performance bottlenecks, inefficient queries, locking/blocking issues, or resource constraints.
- Perform root cause analysis for performance-related issues and recommend long-term optimization strategies.
- Execute database-related deployment tasks during approved deployment windows, including schema changes, data migrations, and configuration updates.
- Participate in on-call rotations to support P1 (critical) production incidents and ensure rapid response when required.
- Resolve and update service requests, incidents, and change tasks logged in ServiceNow in accordance with established SLAs and operational standards.
What you’ll bring:
- 9+ years of hands-on experience working with Microsoft SQL Server databases in enterprise production environments.
- Strong experience with SQL Server job monitoring, performance troubleshooting, and operational support.
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve database performance issues affecting production workloads.
- Experience supporting deployments and database changes during scheduled maintenance windows.
- Hands-on experience managing incidents, service requests, and change records using ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools.
