Role Overview:

Own the end-to-end logistics process strategy for an automotive OEM, with accountability for logistics process standardization, governance, performance outcomes, and transformation across inbound logistics, yard and warehouse interfaces, transportation planning and execution, finished vehicle logistics, packaging flows, and cross-functional logistics control processes.

The role serves as the senior logistics process leader across manufacturing, procurement, distribution, and supply chain functions, defining the target logistics operating model, establishing decision rights, driving KPI performance, enabling network and flow optimization, and ensuring logistics processes support production continuity, service performance, inventory flow, cost efficiency, and business resilience.

General Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

  • Is responsible for the design, governance, and continuous improvement of end-to-end logistics processes in an automotive OEM environment, including the following areas:
  • Set the end-to-end process vision, standards, and control framework for inbound logistics, transportation management, yard and warehouse handoffs, packaging flows, finished vehicle logistics, and logistics performance governance
  • Define and govern the logistics operating model, including process cadences, decision rights, escalation paths, data ownership, and cross-functional accountability across plants, distribution points, carriers, logistics service providers, brands, and regions
  • Lead process harmonization across logistics networks, manufacturing sites, and business units while allowing for critical product, market, trade, and regulatory requirements
  • Own the logistics KPI framework, using performance data to improve transportation cost, on-time delivery, premium freight, dock-to-stock flow, yard efficiency, carrier performance, inventory velocity, and service reliability
  • Drive continuous improvement and transformation initiatives, including network optimization, transportation and warehouse process automation, logistics visibility, exception management, and systems enablement across ERP, TMS, WMS, yard management, and reporting platforms
  • Partner with manufacturing, procurement, packaging, suppliers, distribution, and commercial teams to balance service, cost, capacity, material flow, and customer commitments while protecting production continuity
  • Lead root-cause resolution for systemic logistics failures, transportation disruptions, carrier and supplier constraints, yard congestion, warehouse flow breakdowns, packaging shortages, and cross-functional execution issues
  • Provide executive-level reporting and governance, aligning logistics priorities, network risks, operational assumptions, transformation initiatives, and business outcomes across the enterprise
  • Build organizational capability through coaching of logistics leaders and process SMEs, ensuring sustainability of standards, operational discipline, service governance, partner management, and continuous improvement practices
