Your Role 

As Java Technical Lead at Capgemini, you will be responsible for the stability, support, and evolution of critical legacy Java applications while driving modernization initiatives toward cloud-native architectures. You will act as the technical owner of key applications, providing L3 support, coordinating deployments, leading migration efforts, and serving as a trusted technical reference for multiple teams. 

Responsibilities & Scope

• Maintain and evolve legacy Java EE applications (javax), ensuring operational continuity and system stability. 
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents on IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS). 
• Perform server access, diagnostics, and operational support using PuTTY and related administration tools. 
• Manage FTP server integrations, validate file flows, and ensure successful processing of critical business transactions. 
• Lead and support the modernization of legacy applications using Spring Framework and Java 23. 
• Support code deployments in OpenShift environments using Docker containers and Kubernetes orchestration. 
• Manage ServiceNow tickets, including evidence collection, technical analysis, root cause identification, communication, and resolution tracking. 
• Execute and support production releases with an average deployment cadence of every three weeks. 
• Coordinate with Tech Leads, architects, infrastructure teams, and development teams to ensure successful deployments and migrations. 
• Provide technical guidance and operational support to internal teams consuming shared services and components. 
• Maintain shared JARs, libraries, and reusable components used across multiple applications. 
• Participate in technical assessments and solution reviews that directly impact platform stability and performance. 
• Ensure compliance with delivery, support, and operational standards. 

Your Profile 

• Strong expertise in Java EE applications, application support, and troubleshooting. 
• Experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS). 
• Knowledge of Spring Framework, Java 23, and application modernization practices. 
• Experience with OpenShift, Docker, and Kubernetes. 
• Hands-on knowledge of FTP integrations and batch processing flows. 
• Experience using ServiceNow for incident and problem management. 
• Strong analytical and root-cause investigation skills. 
• Proven ability to support production environments and manage critical incidents. 
• Excellent stakeholder communication and cross-team collaboration skills. 
• Ability to balance operational support with strategic modernization initiatives. 
• Experience acting as an application owner or technical reference for multiple teams.

This role combines technical ownership, deep knowledge of legacy platforms, and active participation in cloud modernization initiatives. The position serves as a critical point of contact for multiple development teams whose applications depend on the services and components supported by this function. Beyond incident resolution and operational support, the role drives modernization efforts, contributes to technical decision-making, supports production deployments, and ensures business continuity. The combination of L3 support, migration leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and platform stewardship provides significant visibility, continuous learning opportunities, and direct business impact.
