Commerce Business Planning Lead

Job Description

The Commerce Product Owner Lead drives continuous improvement and standardization across Commerce and Category Management processes for a global FMCG client. The role enhances operational excellence in Sales Planning, Category Management, Trade Promotion Management, Joint Business Planning, and Commerce Analytics.

This position partners closely with delivery hubs, the client, and cross-functional teams to strengthen capabilities, lead transformation initiatives, and implement improvements across people, processes, and technology.

Key Responsibilities

Process & Capability Leadership

  • Serve as subject‑matter expert in Sales Planning, Category Management, Revenue Growth Management, and Trade Promotion Management.
  • Lead continuous improvement across people, processes, and technology.
  • Conduct training and capability‑building sessions for teams across hubs.
  • Maintain and update the D‑GEM Library and the Academy curriculum.

Operational Excellence

  • Analyze process performance and identify gaps and opportunities.
  • Leverage digital tools and analytics to extract insights and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure proper documentation, standards compliance, and knowledge transfer.

Collaboration & Change Management

  • Connect product owners, cluster teams, and delivery hubs to ensure alignment.
  • Support change management through communication, stakeholder engagement, and training.
  • Work with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Sales to ensure seamless execution.
  • Communicate effectively with senior management within complex organizational structures.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in Commercial, Sales, Category, Trade, or Revenue Management roles, preferably in FMCG.
  • 4+ years of FMCG experience in Modern Trade, Traditional Trade, or commercial project leadership.
  • Proven experience in project leadership, process improvement, and change management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Data Analytics, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Advanced English proficiency.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with CRM, TPx systems, and sales analytics tools (Power BI, SAP TPM, Nielsen, IRI).
  • Ability to influence without authority and drive decisions across cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in Digital Commerce, Shopper Marketing, or eCommerce platforms.
  • Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, or Change Management.
  • Experience designing or delivering capability and training programs.

Key responsibilities encompass: Technical Excellence: Supply planner tools – Kinaxis and Anaplan Lead the supply planning team and coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, and other stakeholders. Monitor and optimize inventory levels to meet demand and reduce costs. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in supply planning processes. Develop and implement supply chain strategies to ensure efficient operations. Prepare and present supply chain performance reports to senior management
