This is a unique opportunity within the Insights & Data (I&D) Global Business Line (GBL) to help grow the data, AI and Data Science engagements across all sectors in Australia and New Zealand. You will help shape and deliver complex projects and programs of work for our clients.  You will understand our client’s need to bring maximum value, impact, and innovation to the market as you oversee the delivery of client engagements for data and AI initiatives.

Let’s talk about the roles and responsibilities:

• The technical business analyst will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to elicit, analyse, validate and document business and technical requirements across data and analytics initiatives. This includes requirements related to data ingestion, transformation, modelling, reporting and analytics use cases.
• Translate business needs into clear, structured artefacts such as requirements specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, process models, data mappings and solution designs.
• Act as a key bridge between business stakeholders and delivery teams including data engineers, analytics engineers, architects and reporting specialists.
• Facilitate and lead workshops, interviews and design sessions to drive shared understanding, clarify scope, and support solution alignment.
• Produce high‑quality written documentation and presentations suitable for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Build strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders through effective communication, expectation management and proactive engagement.
• Work within Agile and/or hybrid delivery environments, participating in ceremonies such as backlog refinement, sprint planning and showcases.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst / Technical Business Analyst, with a solid foundation in core business analysis practices and techniques.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across business and technical audiences.
• Proven experience facilitating workshops, requirement‑gathering sessions and collaborative design activities.
• Experience delivering Data and Analytics projects, including data platforms, reporting, dashboards or analytics solutions.
• Understanding of SQL and relational data concepts, with the ability to work with data engineers and analysts on data‑driven requirements.
• Familiarity with data reporting and visualisation tools and concepts (e.g. enterprise reporting, dashboards, KPIs).
• Strongly preferred: Exposure to modern cloud data platform technologies (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP, lakehouse or data warehouse platforms).
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments (e.g. Scrum, Kanban) is desirable.
