Client Delivery Executive - Data and AI - Public Sector

Your role:

Capgemini’s Insights & Data global business line brings together data strategy, cloud data platforms, analytics, AI engineering, generative and agentic AI, governance, and industry solutions. The business works across sectors to help clients modernise their data foundations, scale trusted AI and convert information into business value.

The Client Delivery Executive, Data & AI, Public Sector is a senior client-facing leadership role accountable for the successful execution of strategic Data & AI engagements and the development of trusted, long-term relationships with senior government stakeholders. The role combines approximately 60% delivery and client-outcome leadership with 40% account growth responsibility. The Client Delivery Executive provides continuity from opportunity shaping through mobilisation, execution and value realisation, ensuring Capgemini delivers on its commitments while using strong delivery outcomes and trusted relationships to expand our Data & AI footprint across priority Public Sector clients.

You are an Australian Citizen, ideally with a security clearance from the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA), or willing to obtain and maintain one. You are already based in Canberra or Adelaide or open to relocate to either city from within Australia.

Your responsibilities:

Delivery and client-outcome leadership:

  • Serve as Executive Sponsor and senior delivery executive for selected strategic Data & AI engagements, maintaining visible leadership from late-stage shaping through mobilisation, execution, and value realisation.
  • Establish trusted relationships with senior client sponsors and lead executive-level governance, ensuring continuity between commitments made during the pursuit and outcomes delivered to the client.
  • Work with delivery leaders, architects, and specialist teams to validate scope, outcomes, delivery approach, dependencies, risks, commercial assumptions, and success measures before commitments are made.
  • Oversee delivery health, client outcomes, commercial performance, risk, and value realisation across strategic engagements, intervening early where client confidence, commercial performance or Capgemini’s reputation may be at risk.
  • Convert client feedback, delivery evidence and lessons learned into stronger mobilisation practices, reusable delivery assets, account plans, and qualification decisions.
  • Help resolve significant client, commercial, delivery, and stakeholder issues while maintaining clear accountability with the designated delivery executive and program leadership.

Revenue growth:

  • Partner with the Public Sector Industry Leader, Account Executives and Data & AI leadership to execute focused account-growth and go-to-market priorities across Australia and New Zealand.
  • Build and sustain trusted relationships with Departmental Secretaries, Deputy Secretaries, agency executives, senior ministry officials, and senior data, digital, technology, policy, and operational leaders.
  • Use personal credibility, delivery experience, and sound public-sector judgement to position Capgemini as a trusted execution partner, not simply a technology supplier.
  • Identify and originate opportunities from delivery relationships, client priorities, operational challenges, and emerging government needs; qualify and progress a healthy pipeline across transformation, implementation, and managed services.
  • Lead executive discovery and outcome-based conversations that connect Data & AI execution to citizen outcomes, policy objectives, service integrity, workforce productivity, operational resilience, and public value.
  • Lead or support complex pursuits from early opportunity shaping through qualification, solutioning, commercial negotiation and closure, ensuring propositions are credible, deliverable and commercially sound.
  • Represent Capgemini in relevant government and industry forums, executive roundtables, and communities of practice, strengthening trusted relationships and market credibility over time.

Trusted advisory:

  • Develop execution-led points of view, delivery roadmaps, mobilisation approaches, and value narratives grounded in the realities of government operating environments.
  • Ensure Data & AI propositions address responsible AI, privacy, security, data sovereignty, accessibility, records, assurance, procurement, and public accountability requirements.
  • Take visible ownership of the credibility of Capgemini’s offers by validating that propositions are supported by relevant capability, assets, references, delivery methods, and experienced practitioners.
  • Build a community of credible Public Sector Data & AI practitioners who can engage confidently with policy, operational, data, digital and technology stakeholders.

Your profile:

  • 15+ years of experience across technology services, data, analytics, or AI, including substantial responsibility for leading or providing executive oversight of strategic delivery engagements, complemented by experience in complex account growth and commercial pursuits.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Australian and/or New Zealand government departments, agencies, or ministries, with established credibility navigating public-sector operating environments, procurement, assurance, sovereignty, privacy, security, accessibility, and public accountability.
  • Proven track record of growing strategic client relationships and converting delivery credibility, trusted relationships and understanding of client priorities into new Data & AI opportunities.
  • Experience contributing to account-growth plans, building a qualified pipeline, shaping executable solutions, and navigating complex government commercial and procurement processes.
  • Strong executive presence, communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills, with the personal credibility and judgement to advise senior government, agency, and ministry officials.
  • Ability to connect client outcomes, operating-model change and technology execution into a coherent delivery roadmap and measurable value case.
  • Experience leading across account, industry, sales, architecture, alliance, and delivery teams, including onshore and offshore organisations, while maintaining clear accountability for client outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide executive delivery oversight, challenge delivery plans constructively, identify risks early and protect client trust, commercial outcomes, and organisational reputation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, data, engineering, or a related discipline. A postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
