Quality & Test Lead

Your Role

The Test Lead is responsible for leading and managing the testing team, planning and coordinating QA activities, ensuring test coverage, and driving high quality product delivery. This role oversees end to end testing processes, mentors QA engineers, collaborates closely with cross functional teams, and ensures timely and defect free releases.
 
Test Planning & Strategy

  • Develop test strategies, test plans, and effort estimates for projects.
  • Define scope, approach, timelines, and deliverables for all testing phases.
  • Ensure comprehensive test coverage across functional and non-functional areas.

 

Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Lead, mentor, and support QA team members (manual and automation).
  • Allocate tasks, track progress, and ensure on time execution of testing activities.
  • Provide technical guidance on tools, frameworks, and best practices.

 

Test Execution & Management

  • Oversee test case creation, execution, and defect tracking.
  • Review test artifacts to maintain accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Ensure defects are prioritized correctly and resolved within defined timelines.
  • Coordinate integration, system, regression, and UAT testing cycles.

 

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and Scrum Masters.
  • Participate in sprint ceremonies and project meetings.
  • Communicate test status, risks, and quality metrics to stakeholders.

 

Process Improvement

  • Identify gaps in QA processes and implement improvements.
  • Drive automation initiatives and CI/CD integration where applicable.
  • Establish quality standards, templates, and best practices.

 

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare test metrics, dashboards, and quality reports.
  • Maintain documentation for test strategies, defect logs, and closure reports.

 

  • Ensure compliance with organizational QA processes

Your Skills and Experience

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile, and QA methodologies.
  • Hands on experience with test management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, etc.).
  • Knowledge of automation tools (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium) is preferred.
  • Experience with API testing tools (Postman, SoapUI).
  • SQL knowledge for backend validation.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).

 

Professional Experience

  • experienced in QA/testing.
  • Experience in leading teams, managing projects, and delivering complex releases.
  • Exposure to web, mobile, and cloud-based application testing.

 

Soft Skills

  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
  • Analytical thinking and strong problem solving skills
  • Attention to detail and a quality first mindset.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and work under deadlines.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with automation frameworks (TestNG, JUnit, PyTest).
  • Knowledge of performance testing (JMeter, LoadRunner).
  • Industry certifications such as ISTQB, CSTE, or Agile/Scrum certifications.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP).
