Workplace Engineer - Active Directory

An exciting opportunity to work as part of a growing End User Services UK department supporting multiple high-profile clients as part of the Capgemini portfolio. The role of AD Engineer is a technical position that requires the individual to possess at least a basic understanding of a wide range of enterprise applications software and technologies, as well as business objectives and processes. Candidates must possess an effective blend of work experience, education, and training in all essential functions. 

Your role

• Support the BAU Engineers on complex automation and user submitted tickets, including troubleshooting, data analysis and reporting of application and infrastructure environments that may assist other teams with incident and problem investigations. 
• Technical Leadership and Delivery of new or enhanced services that align with our strategic roadmap, including evaluation of new software or processes that may lead to new or enhanced services.   Design and implement PowerShell scripts to automate a wide variety of server/infrastructure tasks. Strengthening departmental audit capabilities.
• Configure Domain Services, with strong focus on Domain Controller maintenance and configuration.  Providing hands on Production, Pre-Production and Development support and maintenance of Active Directory Infrastructures.
• Manage Group Policy Objects (GPOs) throughout the Active Directory (AD) enterprise.  Utilised and supporting Single Sign On capabilities/process via Active Directory Federation Services.
• Set the bar and ensure strict adherence to processes and best practice standards, especially Incident, Problem, Change and Project Management. (ITIL or otherwise).  Documents and records procedures as needed and leads sharing of such content repositories.

Your skills and experience


• Experience of and applied understanding of Azure AD Tenant to subject matter expert level, power shell and API (Application Programming Interface) management
• Experienced in Windows administration, at a minimum, for toolset installs, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting. Group Policy Management, along with Administration of DNS, WINS and DHCP.
• Highly astute technical lead with strong problem-solving capabilities and ability to effectively employ available resources and best practices (i.e. automation of manual procedures) where applicable. 
• Utilizes strong communication and collaboration skills to meet performance and customer requirements. Recommends and presents solutions to all levels of management on desirable or necessary technology changes or improvements. 
• Is adaptive and flexible, client-friendly, has a professional attitude with an ability to effectively communicate with business as well as technical personnel. Seeks out other resources to resolve problems. Deadline driven with an ability to successfully prioritise requests from multiple sources.

To obtain SC clearance, the successful applicant must have resided continuously within the United Kingdom for the last 5 years, along with other criteria and requirements.
